[마태복음26:39] "하나님의 뜻대로"
조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 이르시되 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고

겟세마네 동산에서 예수님은 십자가를 앞두고 고통 가운데 기도하셨습니다. "이 잔을 지나가게 하옵소서"라는 간절함과 "아버지의 원대로"라는 순종이 함께 담긴 이 기도는, 인간으로서의 두려움과 하나님 아들로서의 사명이 교차하는 순간을 보여줍니다.

믿음의 한 걸음은 내 계획을 고집하는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 계획 안으로 들어가는 것입니다. 내 생각과 합리적 결정보다 하나님의 말씀과 그 뜻이 더 높고 귀하며 진리의 말씀을  따라 내리는 결단은 성공하여도 겸손해지며, 실패하여도 자책 할 필요 없기에 감사에 이를 수 있습니다.

"나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서"라고 끝을 맺는 이 기도는 자신의 뜻을 내려놓고 하나님의 뜻을 택하는 믿음의 결단이며 자발적 헌신입니다. 우리 삶에도 "아버지의 원대로"라는 고백할 수 있어야 합니다.

원치 않는 상황, 넘겨 받은 고난 속, 불안과 불만에 잠식되지 않기 위해 기도해야 합니다. 하나님의 뜻을 떠나 불편한 선택을 했다면 회개하고 내게 주신 하나님의 말씀을 떠올리며 치열하게 기도합시다. 그리고 그 기도 마지막은 "나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 되길 기도합니다."라고 기도합시다. 아멘

디지털 세상 속 하나님의 뜻대로 사는 것은 이 시대를 살아가는 그리스도인의 미션이다.

​"Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, 'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.'"

​In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed in deep agony as He faced the cross. This prayer, containing both the earnest plea, "may this cup be taken from me," and the profound submission, "as you will," captures the moment where human fear intersects with His mission as the Son of God.

​A step of faith is not about insisting on our own plans, but about stepping into God's plan. God's Word and His will are higher and more precious than our own thoughts or rational decisions. Decisions made following the Word of Truth allow us to remain humble in success and free from self-reproach in failure, ultimately leading us to a heart of gratitude.

​The prayer that concludes with "not as I will, but as you will" is a decision of faith and a voluntary commitment to lay down one's own desires and choose God's path. We must also be able to confess "as the Father wills" in our own lives.

​We must pray so that we are not consumed by anxiety or discontent in unwanted situations or handed-down suffering. If we have made uncomfortable choices apart from God's will, let us repent and pray fiercely, recalling the Word He has given us. And let our final words of prayer be: "Not as I will, but may it be done according to the Father's will." Amen.
