[골로새서 2:15] "공의와 은혜를 이루심"
통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라

십자가는 승리의 무대였습니다. 예수님은 십자가에서 죄와 사망, 악한 권세들을 향한 결정타입니다. 죄에 대한 하나님의 공의를 이루셨으며 그 공의를 만족시키는 예수님의 대속이 드러난 자리입니다. 그렇기에 그곳은 예수님의 완전한 순종과 승리가 나타난 무대인 것입니다.

"무력화하여"라는 표현 속에 사탄이 더 이상 우리를 붙잡아 둘 법적 권세를 잃었음을 의미합니다. 창조자의 말씀과 권세 앞에 죄와 사망 권세를 앞세운 사탄의 패배를 공개적으로 선포하신 사건입니다. 죄에 대하여는 공의가 실현되고 죄인에 대하여는 하나님의 은혜가 이루어진 놀라운 사건인 것입니다.

'자눌루쿠스 왕의 일화'가 있습니다. 왕이 나라의 기강을 바로잡고자 '중죄를 범하면 두 눈을 뽑는다"라는 엄한 법을 제정하였지만 친아들이 이 죄를 범하자 왕은 아들의 두눈이 아닌 아들의 한쪽 눈과 자신의 한쪽 눈을 뽑아 공의를 지키고 사랑을 실천했다는 일화입니다. 하나님은 죄에 대하여 공의의 심판과 넘치는 은혜로 우리를 살리십니다.

주님, 십자가에서 사탄의 권세를 이기시고 죄와 사망권세를 이기심을 찬양합니다. 이제부터 죽음으로 향하는 삶이 아닌 생명을 향해 사는 저희가 되게 하시고, 남을 정죄하고 두렵게하는 자가 아닌 사랑하고 공의를 행하는 자가 되게하옵소서. 아멘

푸른 빛의 쇠덩이 길이지만 그 속에 사람 사는 이야기가 실려져 전해지고 온기가 전해진다.

​And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (NIV)

​The cross was the stage of victory. On the cross, Jesus delivered the decisive blow against sin, death, and evil powers. It is the place where God's justice regarding sin was fulfilled and where Jesus' substitutionary atonement, which satisfied that justice, was revealed. Therefore, it is the stage where Jesus' perfect obedience and victory were manifested.

​The expression "disarmed" (triumphed over) signifies that Satan has lost the legal authority to hold us any longer. It is an event where the defeat of Satan—who wielded the power of sin and death—was publicly proclaimed before the Word and authority of the Creator. It is a marvelous event where justice was realized regarding sin, and God's grace was fulfilled for sinners.

​There is an 'Anecdote of King Zaleucus'. To establish discipline in the kingdom, the king enacted a strict law stating, "If one commits a felony, both eyes shall be gouged out". However, when his own son committed this crime, the king chose to gouge out one of his son's eyes and one of his own eyes instead of both of his son's eyes, thereby upholding justice while practicing love. Likewise, God saves us through the judgment of justice against sin and overflowing grace.

​Lord, we praise You for overcoming the power of Satan and defeating the power of sin and death on the cross. From now on, let us be those who live toward life rather than toward death, and let us be those who love and act justly rather than those who condemn and frighten others. Amen.
